The Historical Archaeological Society (HAS) is committed to promoting public understanding of historical archaeology and fostering meaningful engagement between archaeologists and the communities connected to the past. Through outreach, education, and collaboration, HAS supports responsible public archaeology that is informative, ethical, and inclusive.
Public engagement is an essential part of archaeological practice. HAS encourages approaches that respect cultural heritage, involve community voices, and communicate research findings clearly and responsibly.

HAS supports archaeologists working with local communities to share research findings, encourage dialogue, and build trust through public talks, site tours (where appropriate), and collaborative projects.

The Society promotes educational initiatives that introduce archaeological methods, historical interpretation, and ethical practice to students, educators, and lifelong learners.

HAS encourages public lectures, workshops, and events that highlight historical archaeology and its relevance to contemporary communities.
Digital & Media Outreach
