The Historical Archaeological Society (HAS) is committed to supporting professional development and lifelong learning in historical archaeology. Through training programs, workshops, and educational resources, HAS helps archaeologists strengthen field skills, improve documentation, and apply ethical and methodological standards in practice.
Professional training is essential to ensuring that archaeological fieldwork produces accurate, defensible, and meaningful contributions to the historical record.

Training offerings may include in-person workshops, conference sessions, field-based instruction, and online learning resources.
HAS workshops are designed for professionals, students, and early-career archaeologists seeking practical instruction and methodological guidance.
HAS training programs align with the Society’s standards and ethical principles. Participants are encouraged to apply best practices in excavation, documentation, analysis, and reporting that support responsible stewardship of archaeological resources.
Training opportunities may include reduced registration rates, mentorship, and skill-building sessions designed to support students and early-career professionals entering the field.
Members interested in participating in or contributing to HAS training programs are encouraged to engage with the Society.
